BOOK REVIEW: The Senator's Suitcase by Mitch Engel

"Forgetting her was never an option. The entire country made sure of that. How he chose to remember her was another story." Excerpt from prologue.

This novel was so captivating - it had mystery, politics, sex, and controversy - a perfect fall-weather read while wrapped under a blanket.

Engel has a dynamic writing style and writes characters with so much emotional depth, that as a reader you'll feel like you become part of the journey.

"The Senator's Suitcase" follows the personal investigation of Troy Joseph Davenport into his mysterious family history after he discovers a suitcase of his deceased mother, containing $5 million.

The story is written in two character voices, that of current day Troy and in the voice of his mother - Elizabeth Davenport. The latter's story takes place from the 1950s up to her death.

Strung flawlessly together into this mystery novel, are four different love stories, a few villainous events that will make you squirm in your seat, and a few questions posed that may have readers asking: "Would I have done that?".

I truly enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone who likes a family drama with a bit of intrigue and spice. However, as a trigger warning I need to mention that there are some scenes relating to sexual and physical abuse.

I give this ❤️❤️❤️ out of a possible four. You can find this read at Amazon, where it also carries a whopping 4.9 out of 5 ⭐️s. You can follow Engel and access his novels by this link also.
